Cheikh Ndiaye: Global (e) Resistance

Featured Exhibition
july 29, 2020 TO january 4, 2021
centre pompidou, paris, france

Cheikh Ndiaye is included in the group exhibition ‘Global (e) Resistance’ at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Global (e) Resistance’ explores activism through artistic practices in the current world. Artists have been actively resisting and voicing their thoughts on inequality and oppression including political struggles, post-colonial issues, gender-related issues and environmental concerns. Through art, they propose strategies and alternatives as a response to the struggles in the present moment. The exhibition presents works acquired over the last decade by artists from the ”Global South” (Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America), who aim to transform the way we look at the world.

”The 'Global (e) Resistance' exhibition running at Centre Pompidou displays over sixty artists from Africa, Middle East, Asia, and Latin America for a dive into resistance: resistance against racism, resistance against sexism, resistance against capitalism, despotism.

Centre Pompidou gives the floor to committed artists from southern countries in a great exhibition called 'Global (e) Resistance', a wonderful display highlighting works purchased by the museum over the past decade. The exhibition tells us about life choices – even though different – leading to the same will of fighting against injustices.”
